Dr. Shaundré Jacobs has completed both her undergraduate and Honours degree’s in Sport Science, with a specialisation in High Performance Sport at Stellenbosch University. Thereafter, she went on to complete her Master in Science (MSc Sport Science) degree at KU Leuven in Belgium. After working many years with athletes, administrators and coaches, she then went on to complete a joint PhD degree between Stellenbosch University and Vrije Universiteit Brussel in Belgium.
Currently, Shaundré is a full-time Applied Kinesiology lecturer at Stellenbosch University. In this academic role, she lectures Sport Science subjects both theoretically and practically, namely with a focus on Fitness and Strength & Conditioning. Shaundré has a passion for high performance sport, and strives towards changing perspectives and making a shift in the elite sport domain of South Africa. Her hope for the country is that the nation becomes a sustainable ‘winning nation’, by applying ‘realistic’ approaches in the endeavor of attaining international sporting success. The quote that inspires her the most is, ‘Be the change, that you wish to see in the world’ by Mahatma Gandhi.
